About the Job

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Development, the Development Operations & Grants Coordinator supports Foundation growth through grant development, donor stewardship, foundation operations, and administrative support. The position leads grant research, proposal development, reporting, and compliance while providing operational support for gift processing, donor records, and Foundation activities. The coordinator also assists with donor engagement, fundraising initiatives, events, and a limited portfolio of assigned prospects.

Grant Development

  • Research and identify public, private, corporate, and foundation funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate development, submission, and management of grant proposals and reports.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to develop competitive grant applications.
  • Track grant deadlines, agreements, reporting requirements, and supporting documentation.
  • Serve as liaison with funding organizations and campus partners.
  • Prepare grant activity reports and support stewardship of grant funders.

Foundation Operations

  • Process gifts and maintain accurate donor and grant records.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and administrative documentation.
  • Assist with gift agreements, stewardship materials, and Foundation recordkeeping.
  • Support office operations, scheduling, compliance, and financial reconciliation activities.

Development & Donor Support

  • Support donor cultivation, stewardship, annual giving, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Manage a small portfolio of assigned donors and prospects.
  • Prepare donor meeting materials, proposals, and impact reports.
  • Assist with donor recognition programs and Foundation communications.

Events & Team Support

  • Assist with planning and execution of Foundation and donor events.
  • Provide event logistics, registration, follow-up, and administrative support.
  • Participate in occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Executive Director of Development

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and directly-related experience) in a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with grant research, writing or management, nonprofit administration, development or related activities required; Experience with higher education or nonprofit foundations, donor databases or fundraising software, knowledge of fundraising, donor stewardship, and grant administration, and experience securing grants from public or private funders preferred.
  • Excellent written communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to learn and develop grant skill set.
