Essential skills and experience
- This position requires a BSME in mechanical engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background.
- 10 or more years of experience in the electric power industry, including experience in detailed design of the mechanical systems of conventional power projects, specifically:
- Simple cycle gas turbines
- Combined cycle projects
- Coal fired generation,
- Steam systems, or
- Reciprocating engines (RICE)
- Experience in development support and conceptual design of conventional power projects
- Excellent technical communication and writing skills are required.
Valued but not required skills and experience
- Experience in technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design reviews of conventional power projects is a plus.
- General understanding of power station operations and performance reviews is a plus.
- General understanding of process design at electric power generation facilities is a plus.
- Economic, cost analysis, and contract development experience is a plus.
- A familiarity with international design codes and standards is preferred.
