Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is searching for a Human Resources Generalist who will thrive in our HR Team.
The Human Resources Generalist will perform a variety of day-to-day tasks to support the Human Resources department, including employee benefit administration, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, and HR information systems (HRIS).
Responsibilities
- Administer the company's employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and enrollment support.
- Coordinate new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual Open Enrollment.
- Leads new employee orientation and onboarding by providing an overview of employee benefits and enrollment instructions.
- Manage leave requests under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term and long-term disability plans.
- Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training sessions, surveys, etc.).
- Assist in the development of training content and materials.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, company-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Provide support during recruitment activities such as job fairs and career events.
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS.
- Process employee status changes including hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have at least four (4) years of experience in Human Resources.
- Have at least two (2) years of experience in employee benefits administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Must possess strong documentation, organizational and time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- BambooHR software experience preferred but not required.
