About the Role

We are building Terafab, a vertically integrated semiconductor factory at an unprecedented scale. The facility houses logic, memory, packaging, test, and lithography mask production under one roof, optimized for rapid iteration and maximum compute density per square foot.

The Terafab team is seeking an EHS Manager to lead comprehensive EHS programs for its Austin Fab. You will bring depth in EHS risk assessment, industrial hygiene, equipment and process safety, and environmental compliance, and you will lead a team of technicians, specialists, and engineers. Success depends on clear communication, strong influence with cross-functional partners, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-change environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement comprehensive EHS programs that meet federal, state, and local requirements, Tesla, and SEMI standards
  • Lead day-to-day priorities and long-range planning for EHS team of direct reports, including technicians, specialists, and engineers
  • Conduct EHS risk assessments and drive engineering control/safeguards that mitigate or eliminate hazards
  • Partner with process, equipment, facilities, and operations to design and implement safe equipment, tools, and manufacturing processes
  • Oversee EHS training programs so workers understand and apply EHS policies, procedures, and critical controls
  • Lead high potential incident and near-miss investigations; identify root causes and verify corrective and preventive safeguard actions are implemented
  • Track evolving EHS laws, regulations, and standards and translate changes into practical program updates to leadership

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience as an EHS professional in a manufacturing environment; semiconductor, R&D, or heavy chemical experience strongly preferred
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Health and professional certifications (CIH, CSP, or CHMM) preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge and practice of EHS risk assessment and industrial hygiene
  • Demonstrated experience with EHS laws, regulations, and standards at federal and state levels
  • Working knowledge of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles
  • Proficiency with standard business software, including EHS management software and spreadsheets
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
