- Lead, coach, and mentor the Sales Engineering team, providing strong technical and people leadership while driving pre-sales excellence and execution.
- Manage, develop, and inspire a team of Security Engineers, including performance coaching, career development, and alignment with sales objectives.
- Be hands-on in pre-sales activities while balancing leadership responsibilities across the SE organization.
- Provide technical pre-sales assistance for customers and partners.
- Partner closely with Sales leadership to develop existing accounts and drive new business opportunities.
- Deliver technical product and solution presentations.
- Actively participate in IT security events and trade shows as a speaker.
- Develop integrated technical solutions by translating customer business requirements into effective security architectures.
- Technically close complex and competitive opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical expertise, and credibility.
- Identify revenue-impacting support escalations and proactively engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution.
- Proactively collaborate with Product Management, Business Units, Sales, and Marketing.
- Maintain a broad understanding of the security threat landscape and the IT security industry, including current and emerging trends.
Qualifications
- Proven Sales Engineering leadership experience, including leading, coaching, and developing high-performing pre-sales or Sales Engineering teams.
- 15+ years of experience with networking standards and protocols (Ethernet, routing, UNIX, Network Management, Internet Protocol addressing).
- At least 8 years of pre-sales engineering experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop technical teams.
- Solid data communications experience.
- Working knowledge of system design.
- Cybersecurity experience across network, data center, and cloud architectures.
- Check Point experience and certification preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship from an employer now or in the future.
