Position Summary

The Inventory Control Lead I provides day-to-day operational leadership and coordination within assigned inventory control areas. This role serves as a developmental step toward supervision by supporting team performance, training associates, monitoring inventory accuracy, and assisting with operational execution. The Lead I work closely with Inventory Control Supervisors to ensure process compliance, problem resolution, and achievement of departmental goals.

Key responsibilities include

  • Tracking performance metrics and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing daily direction and support to Inventory Control associates and Material Handlers.
  • Coordinating workflow and prioritizing tasks to meet operational requirements.
  • Supporting inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Training, coaching, and mentoring team members.
  • Monitoring compliance with inventory procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Supporting material flow activities and cross-functional coordination.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP and inventory management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and influence others without direct supervisory authority.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet operational deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
