Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Manager, Government Pricing, The Team Lead, Government Pricing is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Government Pricing team, ensuring the accurate calculation, validation, and reporting of pharmaceutical government pricing programs while meeting all client and regulatory deadlines.

This is a technical team lead role and does not have direct reports.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership to provide guidance on government pricing methodologies, coordinate the timely completion of client deliverables, and ensure compliance with federal regulations. Serving as the primary escalation point for complex pricing issues, the Team Lead mentors and supports the development of Government Pricing Analysts, collaborates cross-functionally to drive continuous process improvement, and partners with management to promote operational excellence, quality, and client satisfaction.

Success in this role will be measured by timely and accurate client deliverables, adherence to quality controls, effective resolution of escalations, development of analyst capability, client satisfaction, and measurable improvements in team efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily team workload, prioritize assignments, and monitor deliverables to meet client and regulatory deadlines.

  • Provide strong hands-on technical expertise in Federal Drug Programs, including:
  • Average Manufacturer Price (AMP) and Best Price (BP)
  • Maintain working knowledge of other Federal Drug Programs, including: Average Sales Price (ASP) Non-Federal Average Manufacturer Price (NFAMP) Federal Ceiling Price (FCP) TRICARE rebates

  • Review, validate, and approve government pricing calculations and reconciliations for client transactions. Review and approve variance analyses, reporting packages, and supporting documentation prior to client delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all government pricing reports.
  • Assist in escalations for technical government pricing questions and calculation discrepancies.
  • Partner with clients to address questions, communicate results, and provide recommendations.
  • Coordinate team deliverable checklists and ensure adherence to internal controls and quality standards.
  • Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and continuous process improvement.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Finance, Compliance, IT, and Client Success.
  • Assist the Government Pricing Manager with strategic initiatives, resource planning, performance management, and special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical Government Pricing experience.
  • 1–3 years of team leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of pharmaceutical government pricing regulations and methodologies.
  • Experience with government pricing platforms such as iContracts, Model N, IntegriChain, EVERSANA, or comparable solutions, including transaction classification, calculation review, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading client-facing government pricing engagements.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and workflow optimization.
  • Knowledge of CMS, Medicaid, VA/FSS, and other federal pricing regulations.
  • Experience developing SOPs, training materials, and quality review processes.

About the Job

This position is fully remote, with limited travel that may be required for occasional team meetings, training sessions, or business events. Work is performed primarily in a home-office environment using standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, and phone. Employees are expected to maintain a safe, ergonomic, and confidential workspace with reliable high-speed internet access suitable for professional remote work.

The role generally requires extended periods of sitting, viewing a computer screen, and communicating through written and verbal means. Occasional light physical activity (e.g., lifting materials or equipment up to 20 pounds) may be necessary.
