Referral Specialist/HIS Clerk

The Referral Specialist/HIS Clerk is responsible for seeing that timely specialist/procedural referrals are made which follow that patient’s insurance and referring provider’s specifications.

• Understands and has the ability to demonstrate the importance of exemplary customer service.
• Ability to exercise critical thinking skills, multi-task, take initiative, and take ownership to follow through with responsibilities according to established policies and procedures.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a productive member of a team.
• Ability to use multi-line phone system, computer systems, and general office equipment.
• Ability to type proficiently and understand the keyboard. Trustworthiness and accuracy in money-handling.
• Ability to adapt to change and new technologies to perform successfully.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA laws and accreditation requirements.
• Ability to correspond and access databases preferred.

Employment Type: On-Call, as needed basis.

Pay Range: Starting at $16.00 p/hr
