Overview
Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Qualifications
Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (=>65 years)
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Specific course work: Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, or in lieu of degree have 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab
Preferred Education
- Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification.
Necessary Skills
- Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult).
- Be able to use hospital computer system.
- Knowledge of filing system.
- Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility
- Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics.
- Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge.
- Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment.
- Patient advocate skills.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- BLS from the American Heart Association ACLS from the American Heart Association
- Within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
