About the Role

WHAT DOES AN ASSOCIATE PROGRAMMATIC TRADER DO?

THE POSITION

The Associate Programmatic Trader will join our in-house programmatic team, which is within the media team. The Associate Programmatic Trader's primary role is to operate in-platform, executing campaigns that have been planned in partnership with the Programmatic Trader, Manager or other senior leader on the team. The Associate Programmatic Trader is responsible for executing, managing and optimizing that work through the project lifecycle with varying input from the senior programmatic team. The Associate Programmatic Trader must have a strong attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

The expectation is that this person comes in with strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and dive deeply into programmatic media and a collaborative, positive attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effective management and optimization of the live programmatic campaigns
  • Meet client objectives while implementing and managing programmatic campaigns within agency trading desk
  • Monitor and analyze campaign expectations on performance, brand safety and viewability to ensure the proper/agreed upon standards are met
  • Manage campaign calendar, assets, screenshots, billing tracker and all pre/post launch processes
  • Data analysis and optimization; keep optimization log and date of all optimizations made
  • Provide performance snapshots and pacing on a weekly basis
  • Contribute to analytics reporting with optimizations made, additional insights and the context of those insights
  • Identify and diagnose issues quickly and then escalate those issues to the proper internal stakeholder before they become major problems
  • Maintain strong vendor and cross-agency partner relationships
  • Demonstrate confidence and actively participate in internal and external meetings
  • Contribute to tactical media planning, including forecasting and estimation, in order to build programmatic media recommendations

Qualifications

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education plus professional experience required
  • 0-1 years of hands-on-keyboard, programmatic experience building and optimizing campaigns within demand side platforms
  • Interest and commitment to developing expertise in the following areas with the goal of becoming proficient. At point of hire, the candidate does not need to have these skills. Candidate must be willing to train to achieve them: Deep understanding of relationship between DSP and other platforms (including ad server, dynamic creative, integrations) Proficient in demand-side platforms: able to properly set up all components of a campaign with DSP, budget management, campaign optimization, understand creative testing and implementation/rotation, data analysis Audience planning and segmentation execution Proficient in third party verification tools (e.g., DoubleVerify, MOAT) Hands-on-keyboard experience within all or majority of channels: display, mobile, video, connected TV, DOOH, native, custom
  • Deep understanding of relationship between DSP and other platforms (including ad server, dynamic creative, integrations)
  • Proficient in demand-side platforms: able to properly set up all components of a campaign with DSP, budget management, campaign optimization, understand creative testing and implementation/rotation, data analysis
  • Audience planning and segmentation execution
  • Proficient in third party verification tools (e.g., DoubleVerify, MOAT)
  • Hands-on-keyboard experience within all or majority of channels: display, mobile, video, connected TV, DOOH, native, custom
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office properties for day-to-day operational projects and client presentations
  • Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • Multitasking across clients to ensure the proper executions of several plans simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate/propose optimization recommendations with data-driven support
  • Identify trends in data to drive optimization
  • Communicate optimizations and shifts in media investments to meet campaign success goals; storytelling
  • Is a good collaborator – able to connect regularly with the larger media team on monthly dashboard and insights; collaboration with analytics, planning, etc. may also be necessary
  • Lead executional calls with multiple parties involved (e.g., kickoff calls)
  • Identify issues; know when to escalate
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively
  • Experience with private marketplace set up
