Physical, occupational, speech, and feeding therapists work together help kids gain independence and confidence to pursue their dreams.

Clinician must be licensed in the state of Michigan with outpatient pediatric rehab experience. Clinician should have experience working with children with autism, neurological diagnoses, developmental diagnoses, feeding difficulties - ages birth to 18. Experience with feeding, oral motor, and sensory integration strategies is preferred.

Scope of Work

In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, provides therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education. Monitors the treatment activities of COTA’s and aides. Completes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice. Plans and provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Completes all documentation of services per department standards. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. Maintains updated license and submits evidence of status to supervisor/manager within two weeks of receipt of new or updated license.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • · Graduate from an accredited OT school.
  • · Successful completion of clinical internship.
  • · Previous clinical experience/rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • · Current State OT license.
  • · BLS certification.
