Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Essential skills and experience
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
- A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited program is required; MSEE preferred
- Must be currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the US and able to obtain NM PE licensure
- Must have or be able to obtain a DOE “Q” level clearance
- 10+ years of experience (ideally in DOE, nuclear Navy, or NNSA) in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants or modifications/replacements for existing plants
- Experience must include the selection of equipment, layouts, materials, and the preparation of calculations and specifications
- Experience is required with creating electrical system drawings and designs including low voltage distribution systems (switchgear, transformers, generators, motors, UPS), communication systems
- 3+ years of experience in leading an engineering design team through all phases of project design
- Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design and integration
- Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role
- Experience in reviewing design media created by other engineers
Valued but not required skills and experience
- Construction and start-up experience a plus
- Commissioning experience a plus
- Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in engineering workflow and processes
- Currently located in NM
