Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Nursing Supervisor assumes full accountability for planning, organization, direction, coordination, and evaluation of patient care services during his/her assigned shift. Responsibilities include but not limited to: resource allocation, quality improvement and patient safety, over-sight of on-call personnel, financial management, appropriation of equipment, patient and family advocacy, emergency management, and administrative supervision. The Nursing Supervisor role is crucial to the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care and, therefore, the success of the St. Joseph Hospital. The Nursing Supervisor serves in the absence of the VP-PCS, clinical nursing directors, and the CEO.
QUALIFICATIONS
- - Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
- - Current NH license required or temporary license.
- - Baccalaureate degree required.
- - MSN/Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- - 3-5 years of clinical experience in appropriate clinical area with demonstrated ability in clinical and administrative management.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
- - Membership in professional nursing organization required.
- - Certification in specialty area or administration preferred
