Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Sr. Engineer, Margin Acceleration, to join the team. The location for this position is Irvine, CA.

The Sr. Engineer, Margin Acceleration is responsible for leading complex engineering and Margin Acceleration Program initiatives that deliver cost savings, operational improvements, and strategic business results. This role manages engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational requirements, and customer needs while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Margin Acceleration Program projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring achievement of project milestones, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk assessments, and status updates utilizing project management tools and systems.
  • Monitor project execution and proactively identify, communicate, and escalate project risks, issues, and concerns as needed.
  • Investigate non-conformances and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities through documentation, root cause analysis, implementation, and effectiveness monitoring.
  • Develop capital and expense forecasts for assigned projects and monitor project spending against approved budgets.
  • Support process, equipment, and project engineering validation activities to ensure successful operational integration and supply chain implementation.
  • Analyze project and process performance data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support site safety and industrial hygiene programs by ensuring engineering activities comply with established standards and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, risk logs, and project management records.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to technicians and junior team members.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline).
  • 4-6 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, project engineering, or continuous improvement within a regulated environment.
  • Experience leading or supporting engineering, manufacturing, or capital projects.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and supporting CAPA investigations.
  • Understanding of equipment, process, and operational validation activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, quality systems, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Healthcare, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting cost-savings, productivity, or margin improvement initiatives.
  • Exposure to capital equipment implementation and manufacturing process optimization.
  • Experience with project management software such as Wave, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, CAPM, PMP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or supply chain implementation projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor junior engineers, technicians, or project team members.
  • Experience with CAD design tools
  • Experience with MS Project or equivalent software
