Description

Baptist Health Medical Group (BHMG), part of Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF), the largest healthcare organization in the South Florida region with medical practices spanning from Key West to Palm Beach, is seeking to employ a Breast Medical Oncologist to join the Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing multidisciplinary breast oncology program dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with breast cancer within one of the nation's leading integrated healthcare systems.

Full-Time Opportunity (Job ID: FY26-MIA-CC-27)

Candidates must demonstrate expertise in the diagnosis and management of patients with early-stage and advanced breast cancer

Responsibilities include the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients utilizing chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and participation in clinical trials when appropriate

Collaborate closely with Breast Surgical Oncology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, Genetics, and other oncology specialists to develop individualized treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes

Seeking candidates whose focus is on quality, excellent patient-centered care, exhibit professional demeanor, and promote collaboration in a multidisciplinary team environment

Participate in research initiatives and quality improvement projects, while contributing to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows

Participate in multidisciplinary breast tumor boards and treatment planning conferences informed by the latest clinical evidence and national guidelines

WCI has been recognized by the Association for Accreditation of Human Research Protection Program (AAHRPP) for promoting ethically sound and safe human subjects research practice

Candidates should demonstrate expertise in the management of hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, and triple-negative breast cancers

Seeking candidates whose focus is on quality, excellent patient-centered care, exhibit professional demeanor, and promote collaboration in a multidisciplinary team environment

Opportunities exist to participate in program development, quality initiatives, clinical research, and the continued growth of breast oncology services across the Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute

Ideal candidates may include both established and early-career physicians seeking to build a high-volume breast oncology practice focused on clinical excellence, innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration

Qualifications

Requirements include MD/DO from an accredited institution, active and unrestrictive medical license (or eligibility for licensure by start date), and satisfactory completion of all required due diligence tasks and credentialing

Candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)

Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology from an ACGME-accredited program is required
