About the Job

How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Lead the provision of comprehensive genetic counseling services and coordinate specialized screening programs for patients.
  • Apply your expertise within the Maternal Fetal Medicine department, focusing on identifying families at risk for genetic disorders, birth defects, or a variety of other inherited conditions.
  • Be instrumental in assisting with the diagnosis of genetic problems and collaboratively developing personalized, short and long-term counseling plans that guide families through their care journey.
  • Provide comprehensive genetic counseling services, coordinate specialized screening programs,

assist with the diagnosis of genetic problems and collaboratively develop personalized, long-term counseling plans.

  • Apply your expertise in Maternal Fetal Medicine to identify and assess families at risk for genetic disorders and birth defects.
  • What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

  • Counselor specializing in Genetics credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences you'll need

  • Master Science in Genetic Counseling
  • ABGC - American Board of Genetic Counseling
