Summary/Objective

The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive support across a wide range of human resources functions, partnering with leaders and associates to deliver an exceptional employee experience. This role serves as a trusted HR resource by providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, benefits, HR compliance, HRIS administration, and talent initiatives.

The Human Resources Generalist collaborates closely with business leaders and the HR team to execute strategic and day-to-day HR initiatives that promote associate engagement, operational excellence, and a high-performance culture.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with leaders to provide guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, corrective actions, investigations, organizational changes, and HR best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with associates and leaders while serving as a trusted resource for HR-related questions and support.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve associate engagement, retention, and overall employee experience.
  • Manage employee leave of absence processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and facilitate HR training sessions on company policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and process HRIS transactions including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and employee status updates.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, COBRA, wellness initiatives, and annual Open Enrollment.
  • Perform regular HR audits and compliance activities related to benefits, ACA, leave administration, and employee data integrity.
  • Assist with HR reporting and analysis, including headcount, turnover, promotions, and other workforce metrics to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with leaders and the HR team on talent management initiatives, organizational development, workforce planning, and leadership development efforts.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and programs while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Support annual HR initiatives including merit planning, compensation reviews, engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and other strategic projects.
  • Seek to understand the "voice of the associate" and partner with leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience supporting multiple HR functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and leave management.
  • Experience partnering with managers to provide practical HR guidance and resolve employee relations matters.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend practical business-focused solutions.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with HRIS platforms.
  • Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced, or multi-site environment is preferred.
