About this role
As a Thrombosis Physician, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you will join a collaborative group of internal medicine boarded physicians supporting a high-performing, academically engaged thrombosis service combining clinical excellence, guideline development, and impactful research. You will join a collaborative team of nationally recognized leaders in venous thromboembolism (VTE), including:
- Leaders in pragmatic trials and implementation science
- Co-Chairs of the CHEST VTE guidelines
- Guideline experts involved in ACC/AHA PE guideline development and ISTH/ ASH Guideline development
About the Job
Together, we are advancing VTE care through clinical innovation, research, and guideline development. This position offers a balanced mix of:
- Outpatient thrombosis clinic (Edwards Internal Medicine Clinic)
- Inpatient consultation service
- Teaching across Intermountain and University of Utah programs
- Research and scholarly opportunities
Schedule: Clinic + consult service + research time, with shared call

What you’ll bring
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
- Residency training Internal Medicine
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine Interest in thrombosis, anticoagulation, and VTE care Commitment to teaching, collaboration, and clinical excellence Interest in research or quality improvement
- Interest in thrombosis, anticoagulation, and VTE care

- Interest in research or quality improvement
- Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
- Full prescriptive authority and an active DEA, or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
- Candidates requiring Visa sponsorship will be reviewed on an individual basis
