Role Summary

The Senior Analyst, Network & Fleet Economics is a subject matter expert across Alaska Airlines (AS), Hawaiian Airlines (HA), and Horizon Air (QX). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in modeling financial performance of fleet and network scenarios, optimizing AS, HA & QX commercial agreements with regional partners, and collaborating across the commercial organization to ensure alignment on long-term plans.

Key Duties

  • Act as a subject matter expert on Alaska Airlines (AS), Hawaiian Airlines (HA), and Horizon Air (QX) commercial agreements with regional airline partners, proactively suggesting and valuing any proposed changes while optimizing financial performance within existing contracts.
  • With minimal direction from leadership, exercise considerable judgement to make decisions in modeling expected financial performance of various fleet and network scenarios, assessing and communicating tradeoffs and key decision points.
  • Support fleet team in aircraft acquisition and retirement decisions, ensuring that network needs are met and commercial performance is optimized.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new planning methodologies and tools, rooted in core airline economic concepts, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking.
  • Build compelling presentations that tell Alaska Airlines network and fleet story to senior executives including AS, HA & QX Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
  • Influence and collaborate with teams across Commercial, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment on long-term network and fleet plan.
  • Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 4 years of experience in network or fleet planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or similar), or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Deep understanding of network airline economics and competitive environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in applied microeconomics, statistics, and game theory.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to produce material for executive-level audiences.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification or demonstrated experience in financial modeling.
  • Experience with Sabre Schedule Manager or other airline scheduling software.
  • Experience in analysis and valuation of airline labor and capacity purchase agreements.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of business intelligence functions, including analytics, data mining, reporting, report conversion, data cleansing, data modeling and relational databases.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL / Python skills.

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
