About the Job

  • Review and respond to legal requests from law enforcement agencies with high attention to detail. Draft procedure or policy documents to improve operations and standardize unique or new operations.
  • Work closely with attorneys, management, and/or engineers to navigate challenges or improve operations.
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information while exercising excellent judgement, discretion, and diplomacy.
  • Work unconventional corporate schedules including required to be on-call, on a rotational basis, to handle after-hours legal requests/escalations.
  • Obtain and maintain a United States Government security clearance.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in compliance, operations, policy, legal, or research.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours including working nights, weekends, holidays, and on shift-based schedules as required.

Preferred qualifications

  • 2 years of experience with compliance, operations, policy, legal, or research.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to contribute in a fast-paced, ambiguous work environment.
  • Excellent business acumen with strong customer service and communication skills.

As a Policy Specialist, you are behind the success of your Legal team, ready to create and improve processes, maintain records, conduct research and coordinate communications across the team.

As you closely support your team, you may find yourself working with multiple groups within the legal department, internal clients across Google, and external parties specializing in national security matters. You're an independent thinker who isn't afraid to ask questions, and you're organized in a way that never overlooks the details.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Compensation: US: $90000 - $128000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
