Overview

The GM for Multi-Housing is the driving force behind roughly $160M in revenue across two direct-selling segments — Multi-Housing (direct to Route Operators serving apartments, property management companies, RV parks, and similar) and Key Accounts (factory-direct, without a distributor, to customers such as hospitality and assisted living). This is a builder and a coach: a hands-on sales leader who sets the strategy, develops a high-performing team, and executes to accelerate profitable growth — driven by a genuine passion for both selling and growing people.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or comparable field required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • At least 7 years of sales experience (e.g., Sales Rep or Sales Manager) in roles with a direct customer relationship
  • Demonstrated success leading sales teams; 3-5 years of people-leadership experience, ideally with account volume of $100M or more
  • Previous experience in consumer durables or industrial manufacturing business; factory-direct understanding strongly preferred
  • Route or Key Account management, strongly preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to establish, evaluate, and grow strong relationships internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of the nuances that go on in a manufacturing business – forecasting, supply and demand, and cyclical impacts
  • Previous exposure to negotiating and evaluating key account contracts
  • Previous experience with budgeting and P&L management
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth while maintaining simplicity and focus
  • Entrepreneurial drive and a builder’s mindset; strong strategic capability paired with a hands-on, executional approach — high drive, low ego
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to prepare and present ad hoc presentations and analyses to senior management
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners and to influence the outcome of strategic decisions

Travel

  • Ability to travel domestically 50–60% of the time to visit customers and attend trade shows, trade association meetings, and ALS-sponsored sales meetings/events

Physical Requirements

  • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting

Alliance Team Members Demonstrate DRIVE

  • Dedicated: Follows through on commitments. Strong say/do
  • Respectful: Acts with integrity and values diverse perspective
  • Innovative: Always looking for a better way; leads change
  • Versatile: Adapts quickly to changing circumstances. Demonstrates agility
  • Engaged: Acts like an owner. Wants to create and grow a business which is tightly aligned with market needs

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for driving profitable growth of the segment; owns revenue and margin targets and adjusts the sales strategy accordingly to achieve financial goals
  • Primarily responsible for sales as a hands-on, in-market leader, plus sales strategy, go-to-market approach, and sales channel mix
  • Build, manage, and maintain relationships with key existing and prospective customers; personally manage and nurture strategic key accounts, and actively manage the sales pipeline to drive performance against targets and KPIs
  • Develop and execute a strategy and operating plan to achieve goals including revenue, margin, and overall profitability of the segment; develop and implement continuity and growth strategies
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of sales professionals who master value selling and technology-enabled solutions; set clear goals and expectations, provide regular coaching and feedback, and ensure the team has the resources and training to succeed
  • Provide segment and customer input to product/solution roadmaps in collaboration with the Product and technology teams
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs, and use those insights to inform sales strategy and go-to-market decisions
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators. Forecast and explain variances in key portfolio and performance measures
  • Work in conjunction with ALS support services (Aftersales and Order Desk) and have a close relationship with FP&A Business Partner
