Project Overview

Fab 62 is an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility for Intel Corporation, located at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish-out a leading-edge chipmaking facility — a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success. The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Joining the Fab 62 team means contributing directly to one of the most strategically important construction efforts in the United States and helping deliver the infrastructure behind the next generation of microelectronics.

Job Summary

The Mechanical DRY CSU Engineer leads the discipline CSU team responsible for high-purity process and utility systems (specialty gases, chemicals, slurry, ultrapure water, and waste) during commissioning and start-up of the semiconductor fabrication facility. The role plans and supervises discipline execution from construction completion through system turnover to operations, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and to design intent. The Mechanical Dry Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing dry commissioning activities for mechanical systems within semiconductor fabrication facilities (fabs). The role ensures systems are installed correctly, meet design requirements, operate safely, and are ready for wet commissioning, process qualification, startup, and handover to operations. This position works closely with Engineering, Construction, Vendors, Quality, Facilities, and Operations teams to verify mechanical systems including HVAC, cleanroom systems, process cooling water, chilled water, heating water, exhaust systems, bulk gas infrastructure, and supporting utilities. Owns the planning, supervision, and execution of CSU for high-purity process and utility systems (specialty gases, chemicals, slurry, ultrapure water, and waste) on the F62 project — Mechanical dry commissioning engineering in the semiconductor industry involves pre-functional verification and testing of process mechanical, cleanroom HVAC, and dry utility systems. Accountable for the discipline's safe and quality execution within the CSU plan set by the Commissioning Manager.

  • Collaborate: Actively seeks out others’ opinions and input and is open-minded to their views. Challenges others appropriately and is also open to being challenged on their own views.
  • Communicate: Is effective at adapting their communication style appropriately to their audience, providing context and using the right tone and level of information.
  • Customer Focus: Prioritizes the customer needs and puts these at the forefront of all interactions. Ensures that others within their team maintain this same approach.
  • Deliver: Demonstrates making well thought out, timely decisions and prioritization that leads to successful outcomes. Includes the right people at the right time.
  • Problem Solve: Accurately assesses a situation to find the best solution or way of working to resolve the issues. It is focused on creating a long term fix rather than a short-term solution.
  • Role Model: Contributes to the Bechtel culture by inspiring and motivating others through their positive approach and attitude. Comes to work determined to do a good job, for themselves and for their team.
  • Adaptability: Deep understanding of interconnected technology systems and how to troubleshoot them while they are actively running.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procedures and equipment setups meet regulatory, OSHA, and environmental safety standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Resolve complex failures involving computer hardware, network routers, switches, and software interfacing directly with control equipment.
