South Shore Insurance (SSI) is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support financial operations across our organization. This role plays a key part in keeping our accounting processes running smoothly—from receipting and payables to supporting month-end closing and stepping in where needed.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary Accountant for SSIA, including: Receipting and applying incoming funds Managing vendor payments Assisting with month-end close processes

- Support SSIU Accounts Receivable functions, including: Processing Notices of Intent to Cancel (NOICs) and cancellations Maintaining accurate accounts receivable records and follow-ups

- Provide backup and support for key accounting functions, including: Assisting with team responsibilities during absences Supporting vendor payables during high-volume periods (approximately one week per month)

- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across financial processes
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (strongly preferred)
- Experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Open to recent graduates
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
- Insurance or MGA experience is a plus but not required
