Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) serves as the operational leader and second-in-command to the General Manager, with primary responsibility for driving safe, stable, efficient, and customer-focused operations across the Mesa facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead plant operations and performance across General Assembly, Supply Chain/Materials, and Commissioning to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer objectives.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement through KPI management, Lean Manufacturing, MAFACT, shopfloor management, standardized work, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Develop organizational capability and support business growth by strengthening leadership teams, improving operational structures, supporting capacity planning, and ensuring readiness for new programs, launches, and volume increases.
- Lead customer and program execution activities by serving as a senior customer interface, resolving operational escalations, supporting production ramp-ups, engineering changes, and ensuring successful program milestones.
- Drive financial and operational results through effective business planning, cost management, productivity improvement, forecasting, budgeting, and performance recovery initiatives.
- Build a high-performance culture by coaching and developing leaders, promoting accountability, succession planning, employee engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and Magna’s core values.
Q ualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of manufacturing or operations experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and/or multiple operational functions.
- Proven experience leading high-volume manufacturing operations, program launches, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, MAFACT, supply chain, quality management, operational KPIs, and business planning.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational development, communication, and strategic execution skills; SAP experience preferred.
