This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 11:00 am - 8:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 6 - 8 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages the ancillary referral process by handling incoming and outgoing orders and prior authorizations
- Serves as primary point of contact regarding referrals, by engaging in (telephonic and electronic) client and vendor communications
- Follows protocols to determine patient eligibility and task requests appropriately
- Learns computer system and navigate between computer applications and platforms to research information
- Determine whether authorizations are required for requested medical services
- Reference automated job aid tools via computer to research relevant rules, regulations, or procedures
- Identifies and contacts appropriate resources if necessary to clarify information and respond to medical requests
- Schedules appointments, provides information regarding appointments and medical services to patients
- Orders supply/durable medical equipment requested through the appropriate vendor
- Ensures the order is entered correctly to submit to billing
- Provisioners complete 6 orders per day/Home Health Provisioners complete 4 orders per day/Intake associates handles 45 a day
- Makes 10-30 outbound calls a day as well takes any inbound calls

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years of experience in an office, claims OR customer service environment
- Experience working in a metric-driven work environment
- Proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Call center experience
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME) OR Home Health (HH) knowledge/experience.
- Experience working remotely

- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location where can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
