What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support a team of employee medical couriers performing scheduled routes and time-sensitive on-demand deliveries.
- Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and coach new team members.
- Provide real-time operational support by resolving service issues and assisting drivers throughout the day.
- Audit routes, schedules, and procedures to ensure service excellence, efficiency, and compliance.
- Manage company equipment and supplies, including phones, ID badges, delivery bags, and temperature-control materials.
- Review timesheets, productivity, service metrics, and customer feedback to improve performance.
- Partner with Dispatch and Operations leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build positive relationships with healthcare customers while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in logistics, transportation, healthcare operations, distribution, or a related field.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Working knowledge of the Northern California service area, including San Jose, the East Bay, and the Peninsula.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs.
- Ability to travel throughout the service area and drive extended distances when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or vocational education is a plus.
- Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable personal vehicle with current registration and proof of insurance.
- Comfortable using smartphones, GPS navigation, Microsoft Office, and mobile workforce applications.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements
This position combines office, field, and driving responsibilities.
The successful candidate must be able to
- Walk and stand for extended periods.
- Bend, squat, kneel, and reach as needed.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Navigate loading docks, stairways, and healthcare facilities.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Drive throughout Northern California for extended periods.
